Flashy Flamingo

25 Nov
Ok, so if anyone here REALLY knows me, they know I have a weakness. (Well, one major one) JEWELRY! ๐Ÿ™‚ I went to Tinsel & Tidings this past weekend and I saw a girl wearing a necklace that I loved! I asked her who made it and turns out it is a girl named Leah that I remember from school! She was younger than me, my sister’s age. I tracked her down and she is making me a necklace/bracelet set. She has a blog with all of her jewelry if you are interested! She will make one special for you! Just tell her what you do/don’t like!
Here is the one she made for me!

Addie Lou Who

24 Nov

Ok, so we are having family Christmas photos made tomorrow. I am so excited!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I found this dress and I just couldn’t pass it up! AND…I had to have a hairbow to match, so I am proud to say I made one!! Yay! ๐Ÿ™‚ This dress reminds me of something Cindy Lou Who would wear on The Grinch that Stole Christmas. So, now we have an Addie Lou Who! Now, I just hope the hairbow isn’t bigger than her head since she is asleep and can’t model it out for me.

This was the “first draft”. I liked it until I uploaded the photo and saw it on here. It was just missing something so I ripped it apart and redid it. You see why I never have any spare time? I always get caught up in little projects that turn into big ones! (this one took a good couple of hours)

Addison, Bethany, & Izzy

20 Nov

My niece Bethany came to stay with us this weekend while her mom went to the Women of Faith conference in OK City. I was totally bummed that I was unable to go this year because of conflicting work schedules (on Chris’ part…since he had to watch Addie) But I am here to tell you that I am GOING next year! Rain or Shine! We did have a Women’s Day of Refreshing at my church on Saturday which I really needed though. I was so glad to get to go..thank you Heather for watching the girls! (The Day of Refreshing is a whole blog in I won’t elaborate here. I did take the girls to see Gradad and thought that this was a cute pic of them. Yes, they are dressed alike because apparently Jennifer, my sister, has the same taste in children’s clothes that I do. Haha ๐Ÿ™‚ Just worked out that they had the same outfit…so why not?? Aren’t they cute??
Bethany looks JUST like Jennifer’s baby pictures and Addison does favor me in a lot of ways…although Chris gets a lot of credit for her looks too. My mother said that it is just like having another little Jennifer & Amber running around. Jen and I were about this far apart. Addie is 14 months and Beth is almost 3. Although, Jen’s hair was like the color of Addison’s and my hair was the color of Bethany’s. Weird ๐Ÿ™‚

Addison is lovin’ having “Bethie” around (as she likes to call her)

Oh Look, Pip matches too!
I also took a much needed coffee break with my friend Katy today! She brought me a Soy Almond Joy Latte which was YUMMY! And yes, it IS on my Top 10 List of Worst Foods..but it tasted so good and was worth the cheat! ๐Ÿ™‚ Addison and Izzy had a pretty good time playing together. (Until Addison attacked Izzy. She had a strangle hold on her over a toy at one point. Sorry Katy! Took me by surprise!! Yikes!) Anyway, they sat together and shared some “nutritious” GoldFish and then decided to play “Night, Night”

And as you can see, Pip is waiting for a crumb…as always. Addison yells “NOOOOOO” if the dogs get any closter to her than this while she is eating. Although, Dixie did steal a cookie right out of her hand today which caused an Addison sized meltdown.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

7 Nov

I thought this was too funny and wanted you all to have a laugh. I got this from a friend of mine and just had to share!

Why did the chicken cross the road?

BARACK OBAMA : The chicken crossed the road because it was time for change ! The chicken wanted change !

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road. HILLARY CLINTON : When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn’t about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH : We don’t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY : Where’s my gun?

COLIN POWELL : Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON : I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY : Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken’s intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

AL SHARPTON : Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.

DR. PHIL : The problem we have here is that this chicken won’t realize that he must first deal with the problem on t his si de of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he’s acting by not taking on his current problems before adding new problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I’m going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE : That chicken crossed the road because he’s guilty ! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN : To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART : No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer’s Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS : Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I’ve not been told.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY : To die in the rain, alone.

JERRY FALWELL : Because the chicken was gay! Can’t you people see the plain truth? That’s why they call it the ‘other side.’ Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay, too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like ‘the other side.’ That chicken should not be crossing the road. It’s as plain and as simple as that.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn’t ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

BARBARA WALTERS : Isn’t that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE : It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES : I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never reboot. ALBERT EINSTEIN : Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS : Did I miss one?

Chuck E. Cheese

7 Nov

I took Addison back to Greenville today…we just can’t seem to stay away! ๐Ÿ™‚ I just love seeing my friend Natasha and her baby Addyson. We decided to take the girls to Chuck E. Cheese for a late lunch (after shopping, of course) and as you can see they had too much fun! They were both exhausted after today but it was worth it!
Addison was terrified of the rides at first, which was puzzling since she likes the rides at the mall. But she warmed up to some of them by the time we left. (Except no Teletubbies..they are SCARY apparently) I tried to put her on one of the Teletubby rides and it was like trying to put a cat in a tub full of water. She was clinging to me with all the strength she had and holding her legs stiff so I couldn’t put her in..while shaking her head no. So of course, we didn’t make her ride it. It’s crazy the stuff she is scared of sometimes. I am really glad that Chucky wasn’t making his appearance while we were there!
Addison also discovered how fun it is to “dip” french fries into ketchup. By the end of the meal, she was eating straight ketchup-but given the healthy alternative of pizza and fries, I didn’t see much harm in letting her.

I just look at these pics and think about how blessed I am to have such fabulous family and friends. God is good…All the time! And I thank Him for every moment..this is the stuff life is made of! I wish Chris had been able to come with us-that would have just sweetened the pot even more!

Best Buddies: Addison to the second power! (Addyson & Addison)
Tryin to Break Free!

I LOVE this picture. I see me in her expression..most of the time I feel like I am looking at a Little Chris, so it’s nice to recognize me there too!

Who can resist that crooked grin???

Addison’s Ears are Pierced!!

5 Nov

I went yesterday to see a friend of mine in Greenville and we decided to take Addison to Claire’s to get her ears pierced. Natasha was sweet enough to actually be the one to sit with her while she got them done and I got to be the one to console her. She said that Addison didn’t even cry after they did the first ear but she cried after the second. But not for long! We took the girls (her Addyson & mind) and let them sit on one of those moving play trucks in the mall and that made them happy!
So now, it is finally done. I have been wanting to have them done for about 14 months now..hehe
Yay!! Thanks Tash!
